Atrac always sounded better to my ears, the compilation discs my friend made me back in the day still sound great and he used LP2 to get more music on the disc.
I read about using MD as a second system (film/video) for audio capture in a piece for DV magazine and picked one up on ebay (early 2000s). I didn’t use it much for that, but I had fun with it- and with a digital to USB adapter it worked great with iTunes.

I loved the minidisc. In 99 I worked for a company called The Good Guys, and sold personal minidisc players and car stereos with minidisc.
There was a SONY computer based editing solution that they were relentlessly trying to sell me for years
